Prevention Through Awareness: Gender-based violence - recognition, prevention and control

As part of the Prevention through Awareness Project ACF/349, an interview with Simona Veleva - Doctor of Constitutional Law, expert in Media and Digital Law and Human Rights, and author of the book "Freedom of Speech" - was published in OFFNews.

In the interview, she discusses the number of victims of gender-based violence per year, the consequences, the underlying reasons, and how it can be prevented.

"According to data from the Ministry of Interior, a total of 35,000 signals for 2019 were filed for domestic violence on 112, but they specify that for the same incident there are sometimes several calls. On average, 70 people a day report domestic violence."
